Sarasota has plenty of spots for you and yours to enjoy a frolicking time… “together”!

Here is a list of pet friendly places, including beaches where some require leashes while others don’t. Because we can’t visit each on a regular basis, we’d appreciate your help in keeping this list up to date.

Sarasota’s Bay Front Park and Sarasota’s Season of Sculpture with shaded walkways offer parking and access to Centennial Park where expansive green space is available to dogs on leashes.
There’s even a friendly TIKI BAR called O’Leary’s nearby. It is here that puppies and owners can enjoy a beautiful sunset, meet new friends and go off leash to catch a Frisbee on the restaurant’s sandy shore.

Bird Key Park is just west of the Ringling Bridge with plenty of room for dogs to run and swim in Sarasota Bay. Take US 41 north, then left on Ringling Boulevard to Lido Key. Once over the Ringling Bridge at the first traffic light there’ll be parking on the right hand side. This park continues under the bridge and around the other side with a protected grassy area and more shoreline. It is here you’ll see dolphins and manatees in summer months.

Ready for some adventure?

Venice is due south with a great “BEACH PARK” specifically designed for dogs and their owners. YES, this is where you can swim and sun TOGETHER! Go to Brohard Paw Park for details.

If you know of a pet friendly place to play that’s not listed here or shown on the “LIST” in the 5th paragraph above, or if you know that one listed is now closed or has new restrictions, please contact us for updates.
